Bali Batik and hand weaving, the local Balinese clothes


Batik and hand weaving clothes is one of the traditional process of clothes painting which part of indonesian traditions, the development of clothing factory doesn't make the traditional process of clothing left behind. There is a place/shop that still use this type of making clothes in manual/traditional process (hand made)
there are 2 kinds of the process of making Batik (clothes painting)
1. Hand made/hand painting
2.stamp processing (semi manual)
The process of making Batik
  • Make/draw the design in plain/white materials
Copying the original design
directly without copying (stamp processing)
  •  covering designs with wax on both side
  • Filling designs with ornaments and dots
  • Covering some special part of the designs to get the second color
  • Covering some special part of the designs to get the third color
the stamp processing is not using the step 1 to step 5
  • dyeing for the first color
  • scrapping some part of the wax to get second color using a king of knife. omitting all the wax by putting the material in a boiling water.
  • dyeing the second color, dyeing many times for more colors
  • omitting all the wax by putting the materials in boiling water
  • wash the materials and dry them in shade
The traditional color are usually blue,brown and light yellow, it is a live symbol of Balinese Batik
